Haircare & Maintenance for Toyotress Styles
It’s important to take care of your natural hair, as well as your Toyotress hair to guarantee a long-lasting style. Here are a few ways to maintain both and the products needed to do so.
Cleaning Your Hair
In order to keep your natural hair healthy and clean, you must use the appropriate products and methods.
Check out this step-by-step method below.
Step 1. Gather supplies needed to wash your hair.
Comb, Shampoo, Conditioner or Leave-In Conditioner, Hydrating Oil, Edge Control, Foam (Brands listed below)
Step 2. Detangle Hair
Comb your hair completely through prior to washing.
(When your hair has been in a protective style for weeks at a time, it has not been able to shed properly. So don’t be alarmed when you see more hair in your comb than usual.)
Step 3. Wash Hair
The next step is to wash your hair. If you have natural hair, it is recommended that you use sulfate-free shampoo. This is because sulfate shampoos are extremely harsh on the scalp and they strip your hair of its natural oil, causing dryness and itching, among other things.
-Wet your hair and apply the shampoo of your choice. It is better to use your fingertips and not your fingernails to wash your hair. This is because a wet scalp is in a vulnerable state, so using your fingernails to scratch your scalp while washing can leave little open sores and marks on it.
-Rinse your hair thoroughly and repeat.
-With a towel, dry your hair
Step 4. Condition, Deep Condition or Apply Leave-In Conditioner to Your Hair
Follow the instructions listed on each bottle for best results.
Step 5. Detangle Hair
Comb your hair through completely and apply detangler if needed.
Step 6. Dry Hair
Wrap a towel around your hair so it can absorb the excess water. Use a blow dryer with a comb attachment or with a regular hair comb to assist with straightening your hair. If you don't have a blow dryer, you can sit under a hood dryer or leave your hair to air dry until it's completely dry.
Step 7. Moisturize Your Hair
First, oil your scalp with any lightweight natural oil or your choice (some are listed below) to prevent it from drying out. After oiling, moisturize your hair strands with a hair moisturizer and then seal the moisture in with any lightweight natural oil of your choice. The oil will trap in the moisture, and keep your hair hydrated for a long period. After installing your Toyotress hair, moisturize your scalp every two weeks.
Toyotress Hair Maintenance
After installing your hair, it is important to properly take care of it.
Butterfly Locs, Faux Locs, Goddess Braids, Goddess Locs and Twists
To maintain beauty and to have minimal frizz, add equal parts fabric softener and water to a spray bottle. Spray the locs, braids or curls liberally at least once per week.
Always wear a satin lined bonnet at bedtime. This will prevent the hair from tangling, frizzing and matting.
As stated above, after installing your Toyotress hair, moisturize your scalp every two weeks with the product of your choice. The brands listed above each have oils available.
Argan Oil is great for moisturizing your scalp and protecting it from everyday damage. It reduces breakage and split ends.
Tea Tree Oil is great to assist with scalp conditions and eliminating dandruff. It deeply moisturizes your hair and scalp. It reduces dryness, flakiness and itchiness.
